The parliamentary committee has decided to call on Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba to get information about his upcoming visit to the United States. The International Relations Committee under the House of Representatives, which met in Singha Durbar on Monday, has decided to call the Prime Minister to discuss the upcoming visit to the United States. Earlier, the UML had demanded that Parliament be informed about Prime Minister Deuba’s visit to the United States. A similar meeting was held on June 16 to discuss Nepal’s foreign policy. Pabitra Niraula, chairperson of the committee, informed that a letter would be sent to Narayan Khadka deciding to summon him to the committee. During the meeting, the committee members said that the Prime Minister’s visit to the United States had raised many concerns and the government should clarify it. MP Madhav Kumar Nepal said that any interference in Nepal’s foreign affairs would not be acceptable. Similarly, MP Pradip Gyawali said that the management of the Prime Minister’s visit was in question. He spoke in support of the US Alliance, but said that maintaining some independence was important. Similarly, MP Bhim Rawal while briefing the committee said that the Prime Minister should not think of it as an insult.
