CPN-U leader Jhala Nath Khanal has said that the coalition has not been able to properly evaluate and respect his party in the local elections. Speaking at a program organized on Saturday to express his gratitude to the locals for helping the Socialist candidate of Kathmandu Metropolitan Ward No. 15 to win the local elections, Khanal said that the coalition had not been able to properly evaluate and respect the party in the election. He claimed that the party had won a landslide victory in the by-elections. He said that he had decided to contest the election alone as he had to lose all the posts while coordinating in 15 wards. Khanal said that the party formed from the insurgency had succeeded in becoming nationwide within eight months. He said that everyone should help as the new mayor has won the mayorship of Kathmandu. Speaking on the occasion, CPN-Unified Socialist Leader Jeevan Ram Shrestha said that the people’s representatives should focus on implementing the issues mentioned in the manifesto as per the sentiments of the people.
