The parliamentary committee has directed the government to provide the correspondence or consent documents regarding the SPP within seven days. A meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on International Relations held at Singha Durbar on Friday decided to send the correspondence or agreement reached between the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nepal and the Nepal Army to the United States within seven days. The meeting decided to direct the committee to submit the findings of the task force comprising the then Foreign Secretary and the Home Secretary to the Chief of Army Staff on the issue of SPP, said Chairperson Pavitra Niraula. He said the meeting decided to instruct the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to inform the United States that the Government of Nepal would not participate in the SPP ‘Indo-Pacific Strategy’ after the US report. During the Prime Minister’s visit to the United States, President Niraula said that he had instructed not to take any controversial agreement or action.
