Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that regular yoga practice is of special importance as it brings discipline and inner energy and self-knowledge. Speaking at a program organized by the International Yoga Day Main Ceremony Committee in Kathmandu on Tuesday on the occasion of International Yoga Day, Prime Minister Deuba said that yoga has an important role in developing a stress-free, calm mind, a healthy body and a trauma-free mind. “Yoga is important for the prevention, control and treatment of diseases. The message of yoga for health should be spread to all,” he said. He says that yoga has an important role to play in the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of non-communicable diseases. This day is also celebrated in Nepal after the United Nations declared June 21, 2014 as International Yoga Day every year. Currently, Nepal celebrates National Yoga Day on January 1 and International Yoga Day on June 21.
