The Loktantrik Samajwadi Party has handed over a memorandum to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba demanding withdrawal of false allegations leveled against various movements including Madhes movement and Tharuhat movement. On Tuesday, a team led by JSP Chairman Mahanta Thakur handed over a memorandum to Prime Minister Deuba demanding withdrawal of cases against Madhes and Tharuhat agitators and release and implementation of the agreement. The Lok Sabha has called for the immediate release of the prisoners including Resham Chaudhary in Mahottari and Kailali. Similarly, Lopsa has demanded immediate issuance of citizenship certificate to the children of naturalized citizens as per the constitution and continuation of the existing legal system regarding marital adoption. The party has also demanded immediate provision of compost to the farmers, immediate short-term and long-term programs for flood and landslide control, and provision of shelter for the displaced, said LOSPA leader Uma Shankar Aragaria. LOSPA has stressed on the need to control the skyrocketing prices and black market immediately and to implement land distribution programs by giving priority to the backward communities.
